Levels Floors Akona® Self-Leveling Floor Underlayment Cement is a free-flowing mortar for use where a level surface is necessary prior to installing floor coverings. It requires a minimum of labor to produce a smooth, level surface that is ready for installing floor coverings such as ceramic tile, marble, resilient flooring, wood and carpet. Akona® Self-Leveling Floor Underlayment Cement may also be used to encapsulate radiant heating installations. This product is designed for interior applications from 1/8” up to 1” thick. SURFACES WILL ACCEPT FOOT TRAFFIC IN 2-4 HOURS, CERAMIC TILE APPLICATION AFTER 4-6 HOURS, AND RESILIENT FLOORING AFTER 24 HOURS AT TEMPERATURES OF 72° F OR ABOVE. This product may not be used over gypsum surfaces, particle board, paints, adhesive residues, vinyl, plastics, and epoxy or urethane floors. This product is not to be used as a final wear surface. All acceptable surfaces must be primed with enclosed primer prior to application of underlayment.
